Russo-Japanese War: 1905, free-frank military postcard from station Kungchuling of the south branch of Chinese Eastern RR, addressed to Vawkavysk (Grodno Gub., now – Belarus), bearing military marking of Aviation Unit of the 16th Artillery Brigade, Field Post Office date stamp of the 4th Army Corps and appropriate arrival ds, mostly VF and very scarce. During Russo-Japanese War the artillery units of both belligerent countries used kites, balloons and blimps for reconnaissance and fire correction, Est. $250-$300
