May 14, 1940, cover to New London, CT, franked by four definitives, paying 20s postal fee, cancelled by two red brown ”5.14.1940” illustrated date stamps, blue three-character ”To US” hs, opening remarks on reverse, upon arrival NYC machine cancel ”May. 30. 1940” was applied over the stamps, the cover was neatly opened at top, fresh, VF and scarce, one of the latest K.
